We are Building People!

We are so glad that you are interested in learning more about what God is doing at  Manor Presbyterian Church. Together we want to become the kind of church described in the Bible—learning together from the Bible, serving one another, developing meaningful relationships, reaching out to others in our community with the love of Jesus Christ, and worshiping God because we understand how generous He has been to us. We are so eager to see all these values permeate everything we do that we use our name, MANOR, to keep them in mind.

M Master the Word of God
A Aspire to Serve
N Nurture One Another
O Offer the Gospel to Others
R Realign Our Priorities

We cannot imagine what church would be like without each of these values playing a significant role. This is how we want God to work in and through us to do what He promised in the Bible:

God is building you, as living stones, into his spiritual temple. What's more, you are God's holy priests, who offer the spiritual sacrifices that please him because of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:4-5

MASTER THE WORD
We want to be like Jesus Christ and we know that accurate, relevant teaching is a catalyst for that to happen. Our lives need to be characterized by the ongoing growth and maturity that comes from mastering, and being mastered by, the Word of God. Therefore, learning and applying the Bible is a central part of our worship celebrations, Sunday School classes and other meetings in the church.

ASPIRE TO SERVE
The church is called a Body where each member has a unique and special function. Each person has something important to offer. That is why we encourage every member to learn what they do best and then pursue a ministry in the Body of Christ. When each member develops a servant attitude, the entire church family is blessed as we all work together.

NURTURE ONE ANOTHER
Because the church is a Body, each member needs to nurture the other members. The church is not simply a building. The church is all the people joined together by the love of Jesus. Each of us has blind-spots, areas where we are slow to believe that God loves us and continues to work in and through our lives. So we are committed to meeting together in small groups throughout the week where we can encourage one another face to face to believe everything that God has done for us.

OFFER THE GOSPEL TO OTHERS
The Gospel is the Good News that God loves us so much that He became a man in the person of Jesus Christ so that He could pay for the sin we committed. He gave us grace, a gift that we do not deserve, and so we want to share that grace with others in our community and around the world.

REALIGN OUR PRIORITIES
Because God has given us so much, we want to be generous in the way we give ourselves back to Him. God is the North Star that determines how we spend our money, how we use our time, how we live our lives.
